Arts & Culture Events With The Ojas Centre

Dear Mindful Humans,

How really special it was to take the time to meet up and spend time together at the Soheila Sokhanvari Exhibition, at the Barbican Centre last Saturday!!

It was fantastic to see how each one of us was completely immersed in exploring and discovering the respective stories behind each canva of women, female Artists and Writers, who tailored their artistic trades in a patriarchic 1960s- 1970s Iran with some support or none at all from their family and friends but little from the government which could condemn them to death for daring singing in public; seen at the time, as rebellious... We also watched some interesting Iranian Dance Movements videos. However, the narratives of each female Iranian Artist was undeniably inspiring portraying the strengths of Mothers, Women & Girls which would try to honour in our Afghan choreography.

Our Dance group is small but our Dance group is wholeheartedly strong! Thanks for your loving kindness, your generosity and your positive enerygy!!

Loads of love from The Ojas Dance Theatre Troupe

THE NEXT FEBRUARY ARTS & CULTURE EVENT WITH THE OJAS CENTRE:

So our next trip will be on Saturday 11th February and we will be meeting up at 1pm. This event will not be re- arranged nor cancelled as this is a unique opportunity to contemplate the work of Benji Reid at the Bethlem Museum of the Mind in Beckenham to be able to listen in person and ask all the questions you possibly would like to ask the amazing Artist, Benji Reid. Benji Reid will talk about the making of his work but also the dynamics of his relationships with his daughter and his artistic trade; as well as the dichotomy of fatherhood, Mental Health and what it means to be a Black man in the 21st Century in London, UK.

All the free places have been sold out, there are still places which are now at £3 each. To secure your seated place, book your place now:

Please also kindly RSVP, if you would like to meet up & go together:
