Dear Mindful Humans,
I am so glad you were able to make it. How so wonderful to gather and spend time together!! There were some really interesting Mocktail names that we shall never ever forget, as well as its unique taste, and I can testify that it was indeed, 'safe'... (wink). The food was yummy and I'm so glad you enjoyed my special cake!! It really did feel amazing to organise this and to get to know each other on a social level. It was so much fun that our Mindful Humans requested another day/ night out !!
Friday was also an opportunity to inform you guys, that Janet has been promoted 'Community Coordinator' of The Ojas Centre. Yes, we are expanding; and loads of yummy stuff are on the menu, so stay tuned!! Just want to officially thank, Janet, for all her hard work, her commitment, her friendship, her professionalism, her punctuality (admirable for somebody always late like myself, therefore so very much needed!!), her creative ideas and pragmatic feedbacks!! As you can imagine there are a lot to do behind the scenes. So, thank you so much, Janet, for being part of The Ojas Centre's Team, yes, Partner!!
So what's next??
Well, my Wonder Humans, we are planning on going to Karaoke on Friday 27th May. Janet and I love a bit of singing!! Singing is so therapeutic!! We really enjoyed drinking and eating together, so we are planning on having another get together but this time, in Camden on Sunday 26th June, so feel free to email us if you would like to join us.
Yoga for Meditation is finally resuming on Tuesday 7th June for 6 weeks. It is scheduled at 11:15am- 12:15pm just before the Meditation class at the Croydon Buddhist Centre!! Janet and I are working hard to find the Home of The Ojas Centre and a venue which would welcome The Ojas Centre and all my equipment so I can deliver again Sound & Movement Therapy workshops. We do have a few hints, so we are currently on building new mindful relationships. We do sincerely apologise for the delay but we intend the SAMT workshops to resume in September and to continue to be delivered in Croydon!
This month, I started teaching Dance classes to participants who are over 55 years old in the Arts Space, in Wimbledon. The group of participants is a lovely bunch and it is so pleasant to be in the presence of wholehearted individuals who are passionate about dance; or are there because their GP's told them they were not moving enough; or are simply there to shake a leg. I was extremely nervous the first two weeks because I have been told that there were participants who could blackout at any moment... Dance lines did not seem to be my group's favourite, which was interesting to experience as in Samba, Dance lines are so helpful to practise the dance steps and yes, you read correctly, I am teaching them Samba and they love it!! To be completely honest, they are amazingly talented!! I am so proud that this project is the second partnership for The Ojas Centre!! It is a success for The Ojas Centre as all tickets are sold out! If you would like to read more information about Awa's 55+ Dance workshops, please visit Attic Theatre Company: https://attictheatrecompany.com/
Janet and I cant wait to let you know of the upcoming Health & Wellbeing projects with The Ojas Centre and with some amazing collaborations. We are so honoured to have been contacted and trusted to deliver workshops to support individuals and professionals with their Health & Wellbeing. Once we have settled a few regular projects of this side of The Ojas Centre, we will be launching The Ojas Centre's Theatre Dance Company with a particular focus on Creative Arts & Mental Health which includes Awa's Dance programme: Afro Dance Fusion (to be continued...).
Looking forward to seeing you soon, in the meantime, have a wonderful week!
Sending you Universal Love & Inner Peace,
Awa & Janet
The Ojas Centre's Team
