Treat Yourself & Set Your Intentions For The New Year: Book Your Dance Workshop Now!

Dear Dancers,

I hope you are keeping warm and well. Rehearsing and performing have lifted my spirit up! Studying the MA in World Performances, Theatres and Cultures has allowed me to research and develop my Dance method as well as a new choreography for the New Year to celebrate the New You!!

Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or someone who has never stepped into my Dance workshop before, I will teach you to embrace the rhythm; all you need to do is to feel the music, and I will lead a choreography which will lighten up your spirit! But above all, as a qualified Dance Teacher, I always deliver a Warm Up & Cool Down, Dance Progressions and Technique, not just a choreo...

What is the difference between the Afro- Oriental Dance Fitness class and the Afro Dance Fusion Workshop?

Costumes! I'm joking but am I?! I mean in Dance Fitness, we come in our Fitness gear, don't we? Well, in a Dance class we come with our Dance gear. It's true, sometimes, they are similar, however, you would not wear a long skirt in a Dance Fitness class, would you? Which you can so do that in my Afro Dance Fusion workshop! You can wear African, Caribbean &/ or South American skirts or Belly Dancing belts; dance shoes and leggings, preferably as there will be a bit of floorwork. Actually, to celebrate the New Year, therefore the New You, let's wear white outfits, if you have (you don't have to); the colour 'white' symbolises 'light' in the sense of 'wisdom'; in other words, we are moving wiser (than last year) towards a brighter future... We use Dance to set our respective intentions and to connect more mindfully with our body and our soul. With the Afro Dance Fusion Workshops, we embrace movement more meaningfully as the aesthetics cultivate wholeheartedly our passion for World Arts & Cultures.

Explore The World Through Different Dance Styles

One of the most exciting aspects of the Afro Dance Fusion workshop is the variety of Dance styles. Whether it’s the graceful Belly Dancing, the passionate Samba, the energetic West African Dance steps , each dance form has something unique to offer through connection and expression. Exploring different Dance styles breaks the monotony of our respective daily routines. Each type of dance brings its own rhythm and energy, allowing us to access a range of emotions and stories from all around the world.

The Community Connection

As you know, Dance brings people from diverse backgrounds and various walks of life. When joining regularly a Dance class, we create a community of Dancers. We feel connected to each other as we share the same passion. As it creates  a stronger sense of belonging after joining a group, we build strong relationships. When we dance together as a group, we create a safe and positive space which lightens our mood as well as the Dance space. Dance is one of the most effective medium to help us immerse ourselves in rhythm. It also helps with concentration as we focus on movement, we learn from the other Dancers, we enjoy the present in the moment and cultivate a sense of peace and harmony. Each session we learn more about the other Dance Participants as we learn more about ourselves and this is what is the most beautiful about this Dance journey among a Dance Community which we resonate with... The Dance group helps us overcome low self- esteem, develop confidence and inspire us to work as a group by stepping outside our comfort zones which leads us to personal growth. Dancing in a group encourages us to embrace our imperfections and find joy in the movement itself—no matter how it appears.

Rise Up!

The Afro Dance Fusion workshop is about creating a like- minded community which enables us to all feel empowered. Indeed, every moment spent moving is valuable. Not only Dance gives us the freedom to move authentically by letting go of judgement or perfectionism, we also become more comfortable in our skin and enhance our self-expression through our body movement in connection with the other Dance Participants from the Dance group. Hence, Dance teaches resilience, perseverance, connection, self- love as well as the appreciation that we all can feel that together we rise...

"All I want for Christmas is..." for you to join me at my monthly Afro Dance Fusion Workshops held on the first Sunday of the month.

Please book now so that I can secure the Dance Space and so that I can update the register. See you on Sunday 5th January 2025, my Wholehearted Dance Community:

Stay warm, stay active; stay healthy!

With Warm Winter Wishes,

AWA!
