Healthy eating is not just about diet or losing weight. Of course we need to maintain a healthy weight in order to avoid health complications such as Diabetes Type II, Coronary Heart Disease, Hypercholesterolemia or Obesity. Hence the ACSMs Recommendations in relation to Sports Medicine advises participants to eat Unsaturated Fat e.g. oily fish and plant based instead of Saturated Fat e.g. red meat. Unsaturated Fat creates fatty acids stored as adipose tissue which produces 30% of energy.
