What Is The Next Afro Dance Fusion Workshop About?

Hiya Gorgeous,

I hope you've had wonderful and joyous festivities!! I love this period of the year, isn't it exciting? I really look forward to the New Year, there are so many projects that have been offered to us, I really can't wait to tell you more about them!! But first things first, have you booked your tickets to your Monthly Afro Dance Fusion Workshop, yet? If you haven't, do it now!!

If you are unable to, for any technical issues, please do not hesitate to drop me a message. I'll be happy to help you!!

I added free extra tickets for Female Refugees, Asylum Seekers and BCWA Members, so if you know anyone who would benefit from this workshop, could you please share the invitation with them, that would be wholeheartedly appreciated!!

The January Dance Workshop is going to be based on a Western African tale which is also told in the Caribbean and in South America and which conveys the concepts of balance, peace and health... It is a dance to (of course) celebrate the New Year; therefore, the New You! But it is also a dance about balance, peace and harmony. The story is a reminder that focusing on our objectives mindfully will help us to be and feel triumphant despite our respective past mistakes and/ or imperfections. It is a dance that welcomes everybody: Men, Women and Young People!! The choreography I have been working on is slow paced to remind us that we get to our dreams and/ or projects slowly but surely. It is a smooth, majestic, social dance. Worry not, my Warm up and Dance Movement Techniques- i.e. Awa's Method -are progressively energetic!!

This workshop is a turning point in my career and how I vision the upcoming Afro Dance Fusion workshops to develop. I really hope you will continue to be part of my Dance Community in 2025! Let me actually take the time to thank every single one of you!! Each soul has contributed to the making of the Afro Dance Fusion Workshop! Your smiles, your energy, your presence, your absence, your challenges, determination and development made me want to work harder and harder... You helped me believe in myself and it is "because of every little help" (hashtag Sainsburys), which made The Ojas Centre- initially created as a bridge to deliver Movement sessions to my SLAM Patients- to the creation of the Afro Dance Fusion workshops!!

So, thank you so much for being you!!

I so look forward to hugging you and dancing with you in 2025!!

See you in our Tree House's Dance Space,

AWA!
